Growing up in Honolulu, Desmond pulls his artistic inspiration from the ocean. As a child, he would go to his local library and draw pictures of sharks and various sea creatures. As an adult, his passions have extended into free diving and spearfishing, which has motivated him to paint as realistically as he can to share his amazing aquatic views with the world. His artistic inspirations have come from artists such as Wyland and his weekly spearfishing sessions in which he freedives as deep as 120 feet in a single breath. Desmond’s other passions include gyotaku, jiu-jitsu, surfing and hiking Hawaii’s beautiful trails.
