I wrote this song in 1986. It was interpreted in East-Germany, in the Rostock "Menschen Und Meer" International Festival (Men and the Sea) in July 1987. This was to be my third and last participation in that great festival. The singer was Miss Sylviane Noël, and she was representing Canada.
As usual, the great Canadian jazz musician and conductor, Mr. Vic Vogel, did a fantastic job arranging this song for the Rostock Festival grand orchestra (86 instruments).

There he goes again
Look at his eyes glowing...
There... he waves his hand
I can't believe he's going!
He's leaving me again
Sometimes I feel
He won't belong to me in the end
How can I pretend...
He belongs to the sea
Why not to me?!
There he sails again
Look at his hair flying
In the wind blowing against
My heart that longs to hold him...
He's leaving me again
Sometimes I feel
He won't belong to me in the end
Where do I stand?!
He belongs to the sea...
Why not to me!
How do you expect me to understand
We've walked on the moon
But could never reach the land
That rocks the dreams
Of the only love he needs
The only true love of his...
How can I love someone like this
He belongs to the sea...
Why not to me!
I've been beside him
When he was ashore
Gave him my life...
My love... and so much more...
But when she calls him
He walks out the door...
And there I am again
Waving on the shore
She's got the man I adore...
He belongs to the sea....
(Instrumental)
He's leaving me again...
Sometimes I feel
He won't belong to me in the end
Where do I stand?!
He belongs to the sea...
Why not to me!
